Red and white lights illuminate trees on a dark night.

Winter Solstice 2023

Sometimes things change rapidly, like an exploding star.
Stars don’t shine in singular places.

Sometimes things change rapidly, like a snowstorm.
Coating the world as far as you can see in bright white.

Millions of stars, trillions of snowflakes.
They don’t exist alone, and neither do we.

Together we exist, dim or bright. Shining into the universe.
What impact do we have? We joy do we bring and must we recon with sorrow?
Seasons change and hope renews but action brings forth light.
Like lighting a candle to illuminate a dark night.

Stars don’t shine in singular places.
Together we illuminate the sky.

Happy Winter Solstice!
