Music of 2015

The past year has been a good year for music, with sales records being broken.  There also been a lot of great talent.

Adele definitely dominated 2015, even if her release was towards the end of the year.  While I enjoyed Hello, I did find it over played.  25 broke sales records even as it received mixed reviews.  Unfortunately its still all to similar for Adele.

More refreshing was the disturbing honesty of Used to Love You by Gwen Stefani.   The video will absolutely break your heart.

Anastacia released yet another greatest hits album.  I’ll take the two new tracks.  Carly Rae Jepsen released E•MO•TION an amazing progression right back to an 80’s inspired sound.  Carefully crafted with no high-hat that came with Taylor Swift’s 1989.

Bieber is sorry!?!  Madonna is still irrelevant.  Kylie released a Christmas Album.

I enjoyed released from Years & Years, tyDi, Nervo, Kylie + Garibay, and yes even Take That.

The most interesting album of 2015 for me was Above & Beyond’s We Are All We Need.  In an almost time warp to the trance and techno of the early 2000s but with some modern bits peppered within.  Both featured vocalists do a great job.  Hello and Out of Time really stand out as amazing trance tracks that I will cherish for years.
