Kylie's 20 Years! Print E-mail
Sunday, 05 August 2007
Friday August 3rd 2007, marks a historic point in Kylie's music career.  20 Years ago on July 27th 1987 her debut single 'Locomotion' was released in Australia.  A week later on the 3rd it entered the Australian Charts peaking at #1 for seven weeks.  It was an event that caused her to sign with PWL Records in London and produce 20 years of music!

'I Should Be So Lucky' was her first international single but it was her performance of 'The Loco-motion' at charity event that lead to the release of the song in Australia.  'The Loco-motion' was later released internationally as the 3rd single from her first album.  Her cover reached #1 in Belgium, Canada, Finland, Ireland, Israel, Japan, and South Africa. It also reached #2 in the UK and #3 in the US.

Kylie Minogue had a lavish party to celebrate on August 3rd with friend, family, and business partners attending.  She is currently working on her 10th studio album set to be released later this year.  Rumours have circulated for a tour early next year to feature her new material.

Fly Kylie Minogue (a Kylie fansite) congratulates Kylie on 20 successful years and many more to come.  Join with us and celebrate in FlyKM's 20 Years special section.  Or visit their forums and tell us your memories!  20 Years On:  Your Memories!
